The Bandra–Worli Sea Link, officially called Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link, is a cable-stayed bridge with pre-stressed concrete-steel viaducts on either side that links Bandra in the Western Suburbs of Mumbai with Worli in South Mumbai.The bridge is a part of the proposed Western Freeway that will link the Western Suburbs to Nariman Point in Mumbai's main business district. The 16 billion (US$290 million) bridge was commissioned by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), and built by the Hindustan Construction Company. The first four of the eight lanes of the bridge were opened to the public on 30 June 2009. All eight lanes were opened on 24 March 2010. The sea-link reduces travel time between Bandra and Worli during peak hours from 60–90 minutes to 20–30 minutes. As of October 2009, BWSL had an average daily traffic of around 37,500 vehicles.

The 16 billion (US$304 million) bridge was commissioned by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), and built by the Hindustan Construction Company. The first four of the eight lanes of the bridge were opened to the public on 30 June 2009.. All eight lanes were opened to traffic on 24 March 2010.BWSL reduces travel time between Bandra and Worli from 15–25 minutes during peak hours to seven minutes. As of October 2009, BWSL had an average daily traffic of around 37,500 vehicles.

The Bandra-Worli Sea Link brought a huge relief to the millions of commuters, who used to pass through 23 traffic signals and spend 45 minutes to travel between Bandra and Worli. Now they are relaxed with this new sea link as now they have to spend 6 -7 minutes to Reach Bandra to Worli. 

The Sea Link project is 4-km long in the sea and 1.6-km long in road. Total length of the sea link is 5.6 km. The link has a toll plaza of 16 lanes. It will save fuel to the tune of Rs 260 crore annually.

The Bandra-Worli Sea Link will connect Mumbai’s Mahim intersection of the Western Express Highway and Swami Vivekananda Marg at the Bandra end to Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan Road at the Worli end.

This project took 5 years to complete with the cost of Rs 1,634 crore. The project was developed by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corp (MSRDC). And the Sea Link will be named after late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

The toll charges for the light and heavy vehicles will be between Rs. 50 and Rs. 100.
