Most Indians idolize Sachin Tendulkar over any other cricketer for the unbreakable records he holds, but those who know, know there existed players like Dravid who more than records in their name, have respect among the players for they never played for themselves but the country. On the cricket field, every time when a player plays he plays for his country and then only for himself. But the allegations of 'selfish' cricket is no new thing in the field, and many players have been bashed against similar accusations. This time, it is Hashi Amla.
In a recent match of South Africa against Pakistan, Hasim Amla scored a century on Saturday. While it was a happy moment for the cricketer batsman, and his teammates congratulated the man of the hour, it was fans who were not quite happy with his innings. Amla's innings of 108 took 120 balls to finish. While it could make a great thing in test matches, for an ODI match, it makes quite a bad strike rate of 90, especially when the player is not chasing any target.
Any batsman who plays for entire 50 overs is expected to keep a strike rate of at least 100, and Amla was on speed in the beginning but slowed down his batting in the last 10 overs, inviting trolls. South Africa lost the match and Du Plessis commented "Those two guys [Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez] batted really well but there were probably 15 or 20 more runs that we could have scored if we had pushed a bit harder. Pakistan bowled really well in the middle overs."
Saurabh Malhotra -a verified Twiteratti- wrote, "South Africa totally deserves what they are getting here from Pakistan, who have been superb. Hashim Amla's selfish innings deserve nothing less than a big defeat." See other tweets:

The cricketer however now has become the quickest to reach 27 ODI centuries leaving behind Virat who had held the crown before Amla's this inning.
