Swetha Mohanty is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer. She is currently serving as a District Collector in Wanaparthy District of Telangana State. She has gained immense respect for all the good governance provided by her in Wanaparthy District. Initially, Wanapathy is part of the Mahabubnagar District. After the formation of separate Telangana state, The Mahabubnagar district is divided into Mahabubnagar, Gadwal, Wanaparthy & Nagarkurnool.
To provide employment opportunities to the women in Wanaparthy District Swetha Mohanty has conducted free driving classes along with the local police administration. In the first batch, they have enrolled and trained 80 female youth. The Programme of Free Driving School for the women is still running with active participation from the people of Wanaparthy.
Under Swetha Mohanty Guidance, the district also started a scheme named "Samatha" which provides information and importance of sanitary napkins for women. Swetha Mohanty also started Prajavani a program that solves public grievances. This program is done every Monday. All district administrative officials will participate in this event along with collector in Prajavani. Swetha Mohanty also took an initiative to develop Khilla Ghanpur as a tourism spot. She took several steps to make it as a tourism spot one of them was, she took trekking along with other government officials. Locals appreciated the efforts made by her to make it as a popular trekking and tourism spot.
Swetha Mohanty also took active participation in the Telangana State Haritha Haram Program and a massive land record updating was conducted under her supervision in the wanaparthy district. During the 2019 elections, she has conducted 2k run in wanaparthy to raise the importance of voting and asked all the eligible voters to cast their vote in Telangana elections. Pulse Polio awareness and women's day celebrations are conducted every year under her guidance.
Family History :
Swetha Mohanty is the daughter of Dr.Prasanna Kumar Mohanty an IAS officer of the 1979 batch. He has also served as the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh State. Swetha Mohanty got 2nd Rank in the 2011 IAS (Andhra Pradesh Cadre). She is 27 years old when she cracked the IAS exams. She is earlier an Indian Revenue services officer. Swetha Mohanty completed her B.Tech Civil Engineering from Gokaraju Rangaraju College of Engineering which is affiliated to JNTU, Hyderabad. Even before becoming an IAS Officer she is married to Sri. Rajat Kumar Saini who is also an IAS Officer. He has served as a collector for the gadwal district of Telangana State. Swetha Mohanty and Rajat Kumar got married in the year 2008. Swetha Mohanty is a trained classical dancer, she had learned Odissi a traditional Indian dance during her early high school.
Swetha Mohnaty's Exceptional Work :
Sri Swetha Mohanty aims at providing administration getting closer to all the people. By providing closer administration to the people she says that she can supervise them properly. By doing so the Human Development indicators will substantially increase which further progresses the district. After taking charges as the collector of Wanaparthy District she has inspected the government hospitals and warned the employees who were on leave without any information.
