ndian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in his recent press meet revealed that he will continue as team India captain till the 2015 world cup. On Monday speaking to media Dhoni said giving the captaincy to a youngster before the world cup will add pressure on the player. There is a year to the world cup from now and if I quit now, the new captain will not get much time to concentrate on his world cup preparations.
Earlier Dhoni said there will be a new captain for the 2015 world cup in his one of old interviews and the final decision will be taken at the end of the year 2013. When asked about his old statement Dhoni said, "situations are changed now, as per those days situations I have given that statement. Now according to the current situation, I should continue as the captain till 2015 world cup."
He also said he is with full fitness now. I am lucky to maintain this kind of fitness even after playing back to back matches without any rest. Dhoni said he can't predict how fit he will be in the future but presently everything is all right. Speaking on the recently finished South Africa series he said just a single session play changed our fate and we lost the match as well as series but we have learned many lessons from this series.
