In the wake of Metoo movement, women harassment cases are being noticed like never before. Accused are being targeted by a very wide nation, the victims are being heard by the nation. Media is covering cases like these for priority, the government is teaching citizens of consent, cinema has consent as a topic to many major films like 'Pink.' And it is more than disheartening to realise that people still are not aware, that the number of r*pe cases and harassment are not being affected for a change. Recently, one such incident has happened in Goa.
The 48 years old British woman was returning to her guesthouse in Palolem (Goa) from Canacona railway station when she was robbed and then r*ped near the Palolem beach. She had left her place to catch a train from the station but the train was delayed, so she had to walk back to the guesthouse.
The accused, finding the woman alone, attacked her to rob 22,000 rupees and her belongings including passport. He r*ped the woman and ran away taking all the stolen money and things. The passport and other stolen things but the cash were around 50 metres away from the crime scene.
The accused is identified as a man named Ramchandrappa who belongs to Tamil Nadu. The police checked the CCTV footage of railway stations when the accused was spotted at Margao railway station which is about 35 km away from Canacona railway station -from where the victim was returning. The 30 years old accused is arrested and soon will be charged for a long time under sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC.)
