Following the controversial Ram-Mandir topic, Congress leader Karan Singh has issued another statement. As demands for Ram Mandir in Ayodhya are on rising for a long time, the politician has proposed to build a statue of Sita along with the that of Ram. Chief Minister of the state -Adityanath Yogi was to build a 221-metre long statue of Ram in the city.
The politician has written a letter raising the concern. The letter reads, "Remembering and worshipping the importance of Sita and her role besides Ram in Ramayana, I think, the decision to construct a Ram statue has been taken, I request and propose to half the height of the same and a statue of Sita besides Ram can be constructed."
The letter Karan wrote described to remember how Sita had gone with Ram even when she was entitled to stay in the kingdom; how Ravana -the devil had kidnapped her and she had to face the cruelty in Lanka. The letter explains the pain Sita had to go through when she was asked to prove her purity to Ram. He claimed that Sita is as important to us as Ram and if the decision to build a Ram statue is taken, we can give as much respect to Sita as well, by building her statue beside that of Ram, of the same size.
It has been announced earlier that with the 151-metre statue of Ram, a 20 metre of umbrella overhead and a 50-metre pedestal shall be constructed, making the construction -a 221 metre in height. As per The Hindu, the pedestal shall hold a “grand and ultra-modern museum” showcasing the history of Ayodhya, legendary Ishvaku dynasty and Raja Manu, and the Ram Janmabhooomi. After doing many preparations, it might get difficult to change the plan and work on Karan's idea but it cannot be denied that what he has suggested is indeed an ideal prespective.
