We have often heard about some weird incidents and accidents which make feel very small and helpless against nature. Often our logics fail but often our imaginations get stronger with witnessing and hearing about the power of nature. One such case is of Andhra Pradesh where on 17th December, Monday -when Cyclone Phethai struck the state in the afternoon. Reportedly, the havoc caused the loss of lives and brought in strong winds.
East Godavari West Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Nellore, Krishna, Guntur, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam faced the most cruelty of rains and after rains, some residents reported that they witnessed fishes raining in their area. Cyclone Pethoi struck the locality with around 90 kmph of speed. Around eight people lost their lives, and some trees got uprooted, ultimately blocking roads. In the neighbouring state -Odisha, the government has placed over 11,000 people in safety zones to defend the cyclones and further consequences,
Similar incidents have had happened before as well when animals like frogs and fishes have rained in localities. Cyclone makes it worse. The strong winds pick up week animals from the water bodies including seas and rivers in the air and carry them to great heights. Some survive the cruelty while some get frozen to death. While winds carrying them in the air, rain pours them down like water droplets and hence, the term -Animals Raining. Animals seldom survive such incidents. The phenomenon is no new and there have been various theories behind the same. Here is the video of the latest incident of Fish Raining in Assam on Monday:

The video is going viral and people are amused by the incident and how did fishes rain in Assam. As per News Minute, a Senior Research Fellow at the Central Institute of Fisheries (CIFT) -Dr NM Krishna states that such incidents are the consequences of rains following strong, high-speed winds. “Winds and aeration of water in fish habitats and ponds can result in fluctuation of dissolved oxygen (DO). When DO level decreases, fishes will try to move out of ponds and may get displaced by winds,” he adds further.
