When a trend does not work, a thousand are created. Same is the case in Bollywood. When typical masala movies or romantic triangles stopped working to an extent, appreciable scripts started coming out. So did biopics. After Sanju Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Soorma, and other biopics ruling the box-office charts; 2019 will bring more interesting real-life stories including -Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, Super 30, and Kesari. Besides these movies which will star mainstream actors like Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar, the biopic of N. T. Rama Rao is also to be made.
The son of NTR (Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh) -Nandamuri Balakrishna will be producing the movie and will play the role of his father as well. The movie stars Vidya Balan as well -for the role of Basavatarakam, wife of legendary actor-politician NT Rama Rao. Vidya was paid a big amount of around Rs 1.5 crore which is quite a sum for a south Indian movie.
The movie has already sparked headlines by the depiction of the CM getting Backstabbed by N Chandrababu Naidu who is the current Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. “It’s sad that the conspirators are speaking of conspiracy. Did Chandrababu not snatch power from NTR? Did he not remove the party founder from the president’s post? Is it all not true?” Parvathi expressed.
The biopic will hit the theatres in two instalments -NTR Kathanayakudu and NTR Mahanayakudu January 9 and February 9. Besides Vidya Balan and Nandamuri Balakrishna, the movie will also star Rana Daggubati, Rakul Preet Singh who have given numerous hits previously; and it will be directed by Krish Jagarlamudi.
