"Hunger is not the worst feature of unemployment, idleness is," says Warren Buffet. India one of the most leading countries when it comes to top the charts of unemployment. The congress was replaced by Bhartiya Janata Party, and their Ache Din took jobs of many youths. Parties changed, notions changed, what remained is the unemployment. Recently, 13 jobs were needed as a waiter in Maharashtra, and to come as a shock 7,000 people applied for the post among which most of them were graduate.
The government conducted a 100 marks exams for the same posts and the minimum requirement was set to 4th grade. “The exam formalities got completed on December 31 and currently the joining process is on. Out of the 13 selected applicants, eight are men and the rest women. Two-three people are yet to submit their documents and officially join," an official said.
The opposition also left no stone unturned to criticise the ruling government for the same. “Seven thousand applicants for merely 13 posts is a blatant example of the employment conditions in the country and Maharashtra. It is unfortunate graduates were selected for the posts when the eligibility criteria were Class 4 pass,” the NCP leader admitted.
Politician Gopinath Munde claimed “Recently in Maharashtra, 10.5 lakh people had applied for 852 vacant police posts. Similarly, one crore unemployed youth applied for 10,000 posts in the railways.” Congress Party too got involved in the same and party leader Nawab Malik appealed, "There are no new industries coming up in Maharashtra, and even construction projects are stalled. There are simply no new projects. There is a full-blown crisis and the people are suffering."
On a related note, the prime minister had said earlier, "According to our study based on the EPFO data, more than 70 lakh jobs were created in the formal sector alone last year."
