The five senses of the human body are the essentials in our living. They give a certain meaning to our physical existence. We humans who have and experience all these senses do not value them as much. Our normality is so underrated and we tend to not appreciate ourselves being ourselves. People who are deprived of these senses or any body parts do know the value of life in its completeness.
Stressing on a body part too much would sprain it and after a while it gets numb. For quite some time we all actually enjoy the numbness, which soon turns into tingling feeling and back to normal. What if this numbness lasts forever? What if we can not get back the same normal feeling of touch on that particular body part?
These are the questions we all are scared to answer and even think of doing it. But it is a compulsion to people who have burnt their skin, lost their limbs and miss the body part they previously had. Prosthetic limbs, plastic surgery and even at times, artificial faces are being made to reconstruct the empty space.
But, not all times does an artificial one feel like a natural one. To overcome this, scientists have made a skin like a sensor which can be worn over the existant ineffective skin to generate a sense of touch and feel to it. Not only does this wearable skin tech will help people feel but it can also detect dangers from afar like a car reverse gear sensors.
The skin polymer is equipped with nanoparticles in a silicon tube which transfer electric signals through tiny copper wires and the silicon tube picks up the different waves and frequencies. The differentiation in these signals can help identify various feelings and even dangers.
Hoping to regenerate the sense of 'feel' among the burn victims and even warn parents if their kids fell into a pool or into some danger.

"It would be very cool if it (the sensor) had abilities human skin does not; for example, the ability to detect magnetic fields, sound waves and abnormal behaviour", says a student at the university which has conducted these experiments.
