Ads here and ads there. Try to disable them, we get redirected to their site. 'Skip Ad' enabled or 'No Ad' options are much favoured by the viewers. But, the more we try to avoid them, the more the advertisers are expanding their ways to get into the eyes of the viewers, their target audience. To cover them all at once and to not miss a person on this planet, be it from any place on the Earth, Space Advertising is bound to reach.
Advertising in Space Flights or in Outer Space is the new forming trend. Despite many ambitions by the advertisers, only a few were successful in doing so. The launch of giant hoardings and billboards is what they are planning, and it is termed as, "Obtrusive Space Advertising".
Recently a Russian Startup has emerged aspiring in the same matter. Beaming Billboards in the outer space, which would shine their logos and labels on to the surface of the Earth, is their new found idea. The startup is named, "StartRocket".
The idea is to light up the sky with an array of tiny CubeSats, which can be programmed from the ground. The display these CubeSats express is customisable. They are set to be orbiting the Earth at a fixed altitude of 400 to 500 kilometres from the surface of the Earth.
Websites idea says that these CubeSats are equipped with collapsible sails, that reflect and emit a pixel of light each. The light source is not from any other source but the supreme source of the Sun. This equips the display to be on from dawn to dusk only.
"The Orbital Display" named 'Billboard' is destined to be of a 50 square kilometres in its area. LOgos would be put to display for 6-minute intervals. As of now, in theory, three to four times a day. "The Super Bowl, Coca Cola, Brexit, the Olympics, Mercedes, FIFA, Supreme and the Mexican wall. The economy is the blood system of society. Entertainment and advertising are at its heart" say the lead.
To which all the astronomers both professionals and even amateurs are fuming with anger. This non-sensical move would add to the source of light pollution to the world.
