The challans and fines we citizens have to face in the cases of traffic violations are familiar to most of us. We either have been there done that or would have seen, read about it. But, anyhow, we feel ashamed to have committed the silliest of violations which actually are lethal in extreme cases. The high technology that is being used in tracking the violators is seeing a rise. But, this situation is of a totally varied nature.
A Police constable in the city of Mumbai was driving his two-wheeler without a helmet. Police himself violating the simple traffic law was looked at with a different intention by this one man. Fed up of only us citizens getting punished and handled harshly for a violation, this man thought of taking the law into his hands.
The man named Pawan stops a Mumbai Cop named Ramu when Ramu was riding without a helmet. Pawan took advantage of the situation stopped the police mid road. He then went on to snatch the keys of the vehicle. In a very typical Police-talk, Pawan questioned the police.
A local resident named Ashok has recorded this video on his phone, the dual Pawan Sayyadni and the police Pandrinath Ramu were seen in the video. Ramu is seen trying to reason with the man, but the man was very adamant in his actions.
" Where’s your helmet?", this was asked for several times, repeatedly. Passers-by have arrived there by now, trying to calm down Pawan, but he retorted his actions by saying, " I had to pay Rs 1,000 fine", 'And he gets to go free from any fine?', is the usual continuation.
An acquaintance of Ramu arrives there with Ramu's helmet, and then Ramu puts it on. Ramu then asks the man 'why was he targetting him', to which Pawan says, "It is the law of the land". This does not end here, he goes on to abuse the police on the same grounds.
Ramu was let off the place, and there comes the plot twist. Pawan, Gavas and Shirodkar are now slapped with cases. Under Section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), cases are booked. Also, the people were under the influence of alcohol, were also sent to a 14-day remand.
