At a summit held at the Parmath Niketan Camp at Kumbh Mela area was organized well by organisations under auspices of the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance (GIWA). Insisting the main focus on Proper Nutrition, Education, Sanitation for all the Women and Girls of India. "Our 'Shakti' doesn't need empowerment from someone else, they need to recognise that they, themselves are the power".
Uttar Pradesh's Minister for women and Child Development Rita Bahuguna also shared her views. " Women and girl must take pride in themselves. Only then will society change".Also present at the summit was Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Satyapal Singh. He has lent his words in support of the summit and the greater cause for which it was being held. He also lauded the organisation GIWA for conducting this summit and urging the leaders and people to be aware of this issue.
"Women empowerment is the 'Amrit' (holy nectar) that will cleanse our society of ills such as child marriage and gender inequality".The summit had over 500 leaders and followers believing various faiths and following various religions. They have all come together, in support to collectively 'end the gender discrimination and child marriage'.
