The #MeToo movement has made quite many changes in the way people treat women at workplaces. Many women have been coming up with various instances where they were subjected to sexual harassment at workplace. They are opening up very boldly and they are getting many big names in this matter. BJP Former Union Minister MJ Akbar was also named in a harassment case by not one but many women.
Following so many cases against him, MJ Akbar had resigned from the post. The first one to open up against him was this bold Journalist Priya Ramani. Following her allegation against the former minister, there were many women who also accused him of sexual harassment.
The politician has with him senior advocate Geeta Luthra and lawyer Sandeep Kapur as part of his legal team. They have in turn filed a Defamation Case against the Journalist. The Delhi High Court has now accepted this case and had summoned her to appear at the court in front of the judge for the hearing.
The defamation thus started when Ms Ramani posted several Tweets regarding the matter, tagging the then minister on her Twitter handle. The tweets rose to utmost popularity and many were at #MeToo tone with the same accused. This happened in the month of October in the year 2018. He resigned later that month itself.
This was Priya Ramani's tweet as soon as she was summoned by the Delhi High Court in the Defamation case against her. "Time To Tell Our Side of The Story :)". The smiley face says a lot than just a simple smile.
