The biggest Indian e-commerce payment system -Paytm is gaining its users at a speed like never before. Recently, the company had to apologise to its users after they got a notification from them, reading, "hey" followed by some random alphabets. Paytm called the blunder -a testing mistake and assured its users -that it will not be repeated. "We apologize for the test push notification some of you may have received from Paytm App. It was a testing error by us. We are ensuring that such errors are eliminated completely in future", Paytm tweeted.
Paytm is also to work on the KYC (Know Your Customer) process after the RBI (Reserve Bank Of India) showed a green flag. After the company replied with its apology, replies to the same broke the internet. A Twitterati with the username @SKokadwar wrote, "What must be developer doing with the live source code at 12 AM....
FCM notification requires device tokens of users. which are usually stored in the database. #Can happen with app like Paytm."
The push notification was sent late midnight, which caused much panic among users. While some thought their account must be hacked, some were worried about the amount they had in their Paytm wallet. After the matter got clear and Paytm apologised some criticized their blunder while some were happy to take a breath of relief that their account was not hacked at least. A Twitterati with the username @SSGSSVAMPIRE wrote, "Thank you for the quick reply.I was terrified and thought someone had hacked me." followed by a laughing emoji.
Meanwhile Paytm is glad to have started its work again without any restriction. “PPBL (Paytm Payments Bank Ltd) has received a formal nod from the RBI to start onboarding new customers while resuming KYC for the bank as well as wallet customers starting from December 31, 2018,” they said recently.
