Namakkal Anjaneyar Temple in Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu is a very famous temple dedicated to the Hindu God Lord Hanuman. Constructed in the famous Indian signature style, the Dravidian style of architecture, this temple has flocks of people visiting it for their pilgrimage. The image of Lord Hanuman is of 18 feet tall, that is approximately 5.5 metres tall. This makes the idol one of the tallest idols of Hanuman in India.
Several priests will always be present there to continue and perform the rituals dedicated to the Lord Hanuman. In a recent such ritual where a priest is seen trying to garland the tall standing idol of the god, he had slipped and fallen to the ground.
The 55-year-old priest was seen garlanding the idol standing on an 11 feet high platform put there essentially to decorate and perform the respected rituals. After garlanding the idol the priest slipped and fell to the base of the idol within a matter of seconds.
The other priests who were also present there came to his immediate rescue, tried to lift him up form the ground. The priest fell to the ground in an inverted way and hurt himself very badly. With the help of the ones present around, he was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
The priest died while undergoing treatment and the doctors' major efforts could not save him. The 55-year-old priest was named as Venkatesh who succumbed to the hard fall to the ground. A video of the man falling down has surfaced and it shows how invertedly the man has fallen from the high ground.
