Team India has lost the first Test match against the hosting team England and the Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been criticized for his poor performance in both innings of the match. Hardik might not have impressed through his play but he's still getting praises for his kind gesture that he made when he went for dinner with his teammates.
There are talks over his role and position in the playing XI, but away from all the cameras and attention, the Indian all-rounder’s kind gesture is winning hearts. After having dinner with his teammates Ishant and Rahul, Pandya went to the caretaker desk of the hotel and handed over a packet of food to a staff member, asking him to give it to someone who needs it as the food wasn't touched by them.
According to the reports, this is what he informed the staff: "This parcel contains food which wasn’t even touched by us when we dined. Please give it to anybody who comes in the hotel’s vicinity asking for food (which is a regular occurrence at night). It has been packed for that person."
The staff member was mighty impressed by the Baroda player and replied in affirmative as he was more than happy to do what Pandya wanted. It also showed how grounded these players are despite having all the luxury at their disposal.
Hardik Pandya failed to contribute when it needed as Team India slumped to 31 run defeat against England in the opening Test. Pandya didn’t take any wicket in the match and scored 22 and 31 runs in the first and the second innings, respectively.
