Bollywood is witnessing a new face with old memories, Sara Ali Khan with the face of her parents -Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh. The actress has been launched with the movie called Kedarnath that hit the theaters on 7 December. While her movie is garnering applauses, she is all ready to witness the release of her second -Simmba, starring Ranveer Singh, in the same month.
While the audiences are in love with this new face, what they do not know is that she was not like this for always; she had fat issues for a long time. Though it did never affect her self confidence, the actress always knew that she had to change her body before making a debut in Bollywood. From a 96 kilograms girl to becoming the owner of a fit and tremendous body, she indeed changed a lot.
“I was 96 kg at the time when I told my mother, sitting on the bed crying and saying, ‘Mom, all I want to do is become an actor.’ Then, she said that you need to lose weight. And, it took me about a year-and-half to lose that weight. So, I completed the remaining two years of my graduation in a year so that I can return and start working early,” the actress said.
“I was always a chubby girl, but after going to the States, for the first two years, I put on a lot of weight and then last year, I burned all those kilos there itself. I think America is the place where you can really choose. Jahaan aapko pizza milta hain, wahin aapko protein milta hain. Jahaan pe chocolate milta hain, wahin aapko salad milta hain. That was it. So, I lost all the weight that I had gained there and lots more by working out and maintaining a disciplined life," she continued further.
When asked about her mother response on her transformation, she said, "she recognized me at the airport only because of my suitcases; I was looking completely different. Obviously, 30 kg down, you ARE going to look different.”
