Years after we’ve got to celebrate our independence day, the idea of differences on the basis of religion that once had prevailed in the air of India sounds so disgusting that we start looking down on the predator itself. A government school in Bihar has recently gone through the same. The school had decided to separate paths of students belonging to different religions.
As per Krishnandan Prasad Verma (Education Minister, Bihar), students were to sit in different rooms and sections according to the religion they follow. Reportedly, the discrimination is getting repeated for four years in the school. Following the complains made by students, the government got involved and demanded a complete inquiry on the same.
"For many years, the system of division of classroom on the basis of caste and religion is existing in the GA Higher Secondary School at Lalganj in Vaishali district," stated the District Magistrate -Rajeev Roshan in an interview with ANI. Separate classrooms were allotted for the students belonging to the upper castes, OBCs and Dalits. Similarly, there are also separate sections and rooms for students belonging to Hindu and Muslim communities at the school. Strict action would be taken against the Principal and she would be suspended from her service," he claimed further.
Strick actions against the principal -Meena Kumari are requested by government officials, and students might also speak against her to the authorities. She explained on the concern, "The arrangements of segregation were made to ensure smooth working and implementation of different schemes. There was no protest against it by parents and students. Till now, no discrimination has been made in the school on the basis of caste or religious identity.”
The Education Minister -Krishnandan Prasad Verma said, “We have ordered an investigation into the matter and action will be initiated after we get the report.”
