The photographer says, "Initially I was not even told whose wedding it was. It was in June 2018 that this person asked me to block my dates between December 1-15, and send samples of my work. Soon after, I was confirmed for the event but the client’s name was kept confidential.” The man is the winner of Better Photography’s ‘Best Wedding Photographer’ in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014. He has covered 1,300 weddings and has travelled to 15 plus countries.
“I was ecstatic. It took me two days to digest the news. I also questioned – why me? There are so many celebrity photographers. I felt thrilled that they selected me based on my talent,” he continued. “Seventeen of us from Luxe Captures, the company started by me and my partner Shankar Katwe, left to cover the event. While Shankar, four others and I covered the photography at multiple venues in Mumbai and Udaipur, seven from our team managed videography and drone. The others assisted the team.”
Vivek claimed that he and one more person -being official photographers- were given special ID cards that allowed them to go to different venues and be click the celebrity guests without any restriction. The man tells about his journey to what made him get the most anticipated wedding of the country to photograph. He says, " It was on my friend’s suggestion to take up photography that I withdrew the security deposit from my petrol pump manager and bought a camera worth Rs 7,000. But to withdraw the deposit, I had to quit the job. It was a risk, but retrospectively I’m happy that I took it.”
