Post one of the most revolutionary changes in India, i.e. demonetisation, the country is witnessing changes rapidly in the Modi government. Whether some black money was eliminated or not, citizens surely came to know that they are going to witness some progress, therefore some problems as well. The government is to issue new ₹20 notes and will introduce its new features as well.
The new notes will not end the trend of old Rs 20 notes. Those will still be legal and will be circulating. Though the design is not introduced yet, it might look much like the new ₹2000 notes, smaller in size. As per RBI, the circulation of Rs 20 notes was a sum of 4.92 billion pieces till March 31, 2016. The number is increased to be 10 billion pieces by March 2018 which accounted for a total of 9.8 per cent of the total number of currency notes.
As per sources, the new series of notes too will have the face of Mahatma Gandhi but the image will face rightwards. Last year, the government had issued notes of ₹200 and ₹50 in a new look that people absolutely loved. The introduction of a new series of notes does not cost much but always is helpful in the long run.
Earlier, a BJP leader had sparked the controversies after he claimed that RBI was not giving them funds to meet the promise made by BJP provide 15 lakhs INR to citizens. There will not be one hundred million but you will meet slowly," he said.
"The government does not have such a large amount of money.
We are demanding from the RBI but they are not giving up. There are technical problems. It will not be able to come together, but gradually it will happen," BJP leader -Mr Ramdas Athawale had appealed.
