Ravi Shastri the Head coach of the Indian Cricket Team and a former Indian Cricketer himself is going viral on the internet for his obscene statement on national Tv. Apart from that slip of the tongue from a gentleman, he went on to praise the present Indian Cricket Team under the Captaincy of Virat Kohli to be, by far the best ever team since 15-20 years of cricket. To which Gautam Gambhir, had opinions otherwise. He countered Ravi Shastri badly.
Earlier, Gautam Gambhir did not think much to even criticize Dhoni's Captaincy in 2012. Being bold and strong on his opinions, the left-handed batsman went on to counter Shastri's words openly. When Shastri had lauded the team saying, "best touring team ever", Gambhir did not take time to react and respond.
In Gambhir's words, "I’m sure that people who haven’t won anything give these kinds of statements. I don’t know what Shastri has achieved in his career apart from winning the World Championship in Australia. I don’t think he was a part of an overseas series win. If you haven’t won anything yourself, you end up giving this kind of statement".
Neglecting the fact that our Indian Team has lost 4-1 in its Test Match series against England in Adelaide, Shastri had made such comments. Notwithstanding, the rant on the internet about his statements, Ravi Shastri stood strong on his words. He did say them and did stand on them, even when other cricketers condemned his declarations.
Pointing out a point that Mr Shastri has not been seeing much cricket these days, and giving statements without looking at the facts and figures, Gambhir further commented. He said, " I'm sure people wouldn’t have taken this seriously. I'm sure he must not have seen enough cricket. If he had he seen enough cricket, he wouldn’t have given that statement".
Giving 'gyaan' on how to stay humble, Gambhir continued to say, "It was very childish. Even if you had won 4-1, you won’t say this is the best Indian team touring abroad. You would still stay humble and say we want to take this, we want to go forward, we want to keep improving. You wouldn’t say this is the best Indian team ever overseas. This is childish".
Calling the Indian Head Coach, immature and childish, Gambhir assures that no one would have taken him seriously regarding his comments on the team. He highlighted that he sure did not.
