Sridevi the Indian actress is considered a diva of the Film industry. Donning various roles throughout her film career, she never failed to spread her aura over the screens. Her untimely demise and the sad cause of her death is still a shock to many. The whole nation was shaken after the news and their family is inconsolable. Boney Kapoor was talking to a close friend of his, named Komal Natha and it is then he again recalls the night Sridevi was no more.
Komal Natha took this story to his blog, where he has written the very words of Sridevi's Husband Boney Kapoor of his last meeting with his beloved wife. The Dubai hotel and the reports from the Arab nation say that the death was caused due to 'Accidental Drowning', and now the diva rests peacefully on the bed of a holy river.
"On 24th morning, I spoke to her", says Mr Boney Kapoor, being all emotional at this point. "When she told me, 'Papa (that's how Sridevi Ji addressed Boney Kapoor), I'm missing you.' I also told her that I was missing her a lot. But I didn't tell her that I would be joining her in Dubai in the evening. Janhvi had seconded my idea of going to Dubai because she was scared, her mom, not used to being alone, would misplace her passport or some important document if she was alone".
Recalling all their 24 years of married life, Boney Kapoor sternly and proudly says that he never sent his wife alone out to a different nation without him accompanying her. If at all he could not make it, he would make sure that his friend's wife would be there to accompany her at all times.
Also recalling these, the caring husband says that there were only two such instances in their marital life where Sridevi went alone to a foreign nation. One to New Jersey and another one to Vancouver. Talking about the third such trip she made turned bad, he says, "Although I didn’t accompany her on those two trips, I made sure that my friend’s wife was with her on both the occasions. The Dubai stay was the first time Sridevi was alone for two days – 22nd and 23rd – in a foreign land".
Mr Boney Kapoor took the 3:30 pm flight to Dubai and had reached the Dubai hotel by 6:20 pm in Dubai Time. Kamal Natha in his blog writes, "Boney opened the door of Sridevi's room with his duplicate key. 'But she told me, she had a hunch that I would come to Dubai to fetch her,' recalls Boney. The couple hugged, kissed and chatted for almost half an hour".
Boney Kapoor further suggested that they both go out on a romantic dinner and asked Sridevi to forego her shopping schedule for the day and postpone her plan. Sridevi then went on to get ready for their dinner. She went into the master bedroom and was using the bathroom there for getting ready.
"I went to the living room while Sridevi went to the master bathroom to bathe and get ready", says Boney. He was watching the television for about 15-20 minutes and soon became restless as it was already 8 pm on a Saturday evening and the restaurants will be full if they don't start soon.
Mr Natha wrote, "He made a shout out to Sridevi from the living room but when he did not get any response he knocked at the bathroom door and even called out to her. The unsuspecting husband, hearing the tap inside on, then called out 'Jaan, Jaan' still louder but got no reply, which was unusual".
Furthermore, " He panicked and opened the door which had not been bolted from inside, nervous but yet not at all prepared for what he was going to see. The tub was full of water and Sridevi was immersed completely, from head to toe, inside the tub. Devastated, he reached out to her but watching her motionless, he feared the worst".
Mr Natha concludes by saying, " The mystery will remain unsolved. But that was not of much relevance to her near and dear ones. What mattered the most was this: Sridevi, the vivacious, beautiful and talented heartthrob of millions, had become late Sridevi".
