Over the years, we are learning and gulping the definitions of ‘hero’ over and over, until a person comes and redefine heroism and humanity all over again. While we all criticise protests that stops the working of public services, support media campaigns that make us aware of them; it is still an undeniable fact that there comes seldom any who confronts the crowd. Kerala has observed over 363 hartals between 2005 and 2012, and numbers are still running. Over the last few days, around 100 buses are burned down and other public properties are also harmed in Kerala -as a protest to the entrance of two women in Sabarimala temple.
A video has gone viral -of a policeman taking over the crowd single-handedly to dare them to attack a bus. Reportedly, the protestors belong to the Bhartiya Janta Party and have been creating distress in the state since the Sabarimala controversy rose up. The officer is heard saying, “If you’re a man, come touch the vehicle.” "An attack on public and public property will not be tolerated. I don’t mind getting another transfer,” he continued.

On Thursday, two women in their 40s had entered the Sabarimala temple which provoked some people and BJP leaders as well. The protests are a part of also the consequences of the same. The sub-inspector who came as a hero talked to TOI claimed that it was just a part of his duty and nothing else. He also wondered who must have recorded the video. He also stated that he also got a call from KSRTC managing director Tomin J Thachankary who admired him for his brave act. "The MD said that 100 buses were damaged in the hartal in Kerala on Thursday and such efforts could have saved the buses."
