Every Government body of the nation, every major influential public scheme come up with their personalised symbolic Tableaus for the Republic day parade. Every state symbolises its nature in the form of a tableau briefing up their importance to showcase at one glance. This year of 2019, Tripura state has won the Best Tableau for Republic Day 2019.
The State of Tripura came up with the theme, 'Empowering Rural economy The Gandhian Way'. The second position was bagged by the State of Jammu and Kashmir, while the third spot was occupied by the state of Punjab. The awards were given to the respected winners after the parade and a separate ceremony by Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Coming to the winners from the Department category, the first prize was shared among CISF, Central Industrial Security Force and ICAR, Indian Council of Agricultural Research. CISF had industries, its security and woman leaders leading their forces portrayed in their tableau.
ICAR had all our veggies and fruits with people conducting research, benefitting the farmers in the village. Themed 'Kisan Gandhi'.
Talking about the Tripura state theme, it's Information and Cultural Affairs Deputy Director Bhaskar Das Gupta had these proud comments to make. "It was a test for the best" The Gandhian aim and methods of achieving a prosperous economy with the inclusion of the farming community are emphasised here. The tableau has Gandhiji with a Charaka, weaver and others with the tune of Swachch Bharat playing in the background. A complete tribute to the Father of the Nation.
Punjab had depicted the Jallianwala Bagh incident in its state tableau on the eve of observing the centenary of the massacre. "We are keen that the incident is showcased so that people know about it" says a poubjab Government official.
