The network and related operations of the flights are very crucial for their smooth operation. Any disturbances in the both can cause huge delays and if neglected can cause huge damage to lives and property. IndiGo flights have been facing this kind of Network Disruption lately. They have started to experience these from the day there was an unexpected hailstorm followed by snowfall in Northern Delhi.
Over the start of the week and the previous weekend, IndiGo Airlines have been cancelling their flights in big numbers. 72 flights during the weekend, about 32 flights on Monday and around 30 flights were cancelled on Tuesday. There are chances that there will be more cancellations.
The inconvenience caused by this airline due to its disruption in its network is said to be compensated by adding an additional 30 flights to its present fleet. This was in accordance with the Notice to Airmen( Notam) and Bad weather conditions.
Inside IndiGo operations there is a shortage of commanders. IndiGo thus says, " IndiGo is slightly adjusting its flight schedule in the coming days by approximately 30 flights per day. This is in order to stabilise the network and operations impacted due to various ongoing Notams and predicted bad weather in the coming days".
The Notam command is issued by the Air Traffic Control(ATC) in particular situations to restrict flight operations due to various reasons. For example, there was a Notam command over the Delhi area on Republic Day. And also some flight shows were issued Notam in Bengaluru city.
The airlines add on by saying, " In order to avoid inconvenience, these adjustments are being made in advance enabling adequate notice to passengers. They are being accommodated close to their original flight schedule. These adjustments amount to 1 per cent to 2 per cent of the originally planned number of flights".
The biggest Airline network that IndiGo serves all over the nation have been affected and it is showing up in the form of cancellations. The inside talk about these cancellations has to say that these will continue. And the whole airlines would take time to settle their network and start operating fully.
