Malaysia is a nation in South East Asia with World's 44th position in population and many endemic species. It has a very new modified industrialised Economy which makes it the top Fourth in South East Asia and 38th in the World. Unknown to many, this nation is an Importer of solid waste especially plastic waste from other nations. This plastic waste import from other nations has made this Malaysian nation filled with plastic lying untouched.
The wrath of which is being forced on a small town in the Malaysian nation which is being suffocated of all this untreated and uncared 17,000 tonnes of plastic. Earlier in the year 2017, China has put its step forward and declined to take in plastic waste anymore. This was a huge relief to them.
But, all that waste disposal now has nowhere to go. It came to the relatively smaller nation, Malaysia. Not every place in Malaysia has these huge dumps of plastic waste lying around. The crucial port city of Jenjarom near to the Port Klang, which is the country's largest port has become the ideal dump yard.
Just after China has stepped down from accepting any more plastic waste from other nations, from the months of January to June 2018 itself, Malaysia had about 7,54,000 tonnes of plastic waste imported. The government has regulated plastic treatment facilities to not harm the atmosphere.
But, the real problem arrives when there are other Illegal Recycling Factories which have come up which do not follow the required rules and regulations. They have come up to cash the booming economical source, Plastic Waste. Some were close to the Palm plantations, and some were closer to the towns.
At first, the black clouds of smoke rising from these factories did not show their effect. But sooner than thought, the people from the nearby towns started feeling uneasiness and have started to show significant unhealthy symptoms. "I started to feel unwell and I would keep coughing. I was really angry when I found out it was because of the factories", says a resident.
Not only these few people but even the neighbouring areas have been experiencing the same kind of fumes and suffocation. The cost of rightly recycling this waste is high, and the government searches for cheaper factories who would do it away. And these illegal factories sometimes do it for free and in the most unsafe way.
Experts say that there is no solid way to properly Recycle Plastic waste in the World. If not then the Whole world is not far from becoming the next Jenjarom.

Other residents who were suffering so as well, say, " The fumes from the burning sparked a cough so violent that I even coughed up a painful blood clot". Another resident whose 11-year-old kid had very bad symptoms showing up. She says, " He got a really bad rash around his stomach, neck, legs and arms. His skin would keep peeling, even when we touched him it hurt. I was angry and scared for his health but what could I do? The smell was everywhere in the air".
