The month of March is just a day away, and this calls for the peak temperatures in the Summer Season. This is also accompanied by the auspicious Wedding season as well as the Exam Season. The most dreaded of all is the Exam season which is creates a tensed situation in every one of us even when any of us have crossed that level. To soothe the students during this time, the Punjab Government has started a new initiative.
Talking about this matter, Punjab State's Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Monday, assured that the government would make sure to curb the noise pollution during this season. The auspicious season calls for more religious ceremonies and functions, which often use loudspeakers everywhere.
In the State Assembly, the CM assured of all possible measures to curb the noise pollution during the examination time of the students. Adding to this the Chief Minister called for strict action against the violators. This response from him comes after an attention notice sent by the AAP Legislator Aman Arora in the Vidhan Sabha(upper house).
Pointing out the effect of noise pollution on the preparation for the exams by the kids, CM Amarinder Singh says, " Noise Pollution had been adversely impacting the quality of life of all sections of society, especially the students preparing for exams".
Reiterating the Punjab State Government's assurance, he said that the violations like the use of loudspeakers, DJ Systems, and other similar music instruments, especially during the exam days will be dealt with more strictly. Comprehensive guidelines have been set up by the Government to the related sound operators.
Under the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules of 2000, with the provision of Punjab instruments (Control of Noise) Act of 1956, these guidelines have been made. In his words, the CM says, " The District Police and Civil Administration, officers of the pollution control board and government officials had also been directed to ensure strict implementation of the guidelines".
