Police usually instigate a tad bit of fear among us citizens even when we do not commit any offence. But if this fear clouds us while approaching them for help will not do good. Talking about the police and their approachability, The Telangana State Home Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali has a lot to say and a lot to inform us people of Telangana. It was at the inauguration of the new Rachakonda Police Commissionerate at Neredmet.
The police of the state grew more humble and approachable by the people and the citizens, on the other hand, have become more cooperative with the law and order of the land. Their participation did call for this ensuring harmony. The CCTV Cameras and the new SOS towers have helped in bringing down the crime rate.
Along with the Minister, the Director General of Police, M Mahendar Reddy was also present addressing the gathering. The event before its beginning has witnessed all of the delegates and the ones gathered, observing a Two Minute Silence for the Martyrs in the Pulwama Tragedy.
Police stations and their equipment are being revamped in accordance with the latest technology to enable better policing and vigilance of the state. Talking about these advancements the DGP says, " Safety and Security are equal for both rich and poor. when the benefits of the initiative are explained they would happily take part in the initiative".
The new Police Commissionerate has a very sturdy safe for storing documents and records. It is both fire and water-proof. This storage named Advanced Records Management System aka ARMS has a capacity of storing 4,000kg of books, accessed only by designated officials.

Home Minister went back to the days of the initial Telangana Movement where the whole peace and police scenario was different. In his words, he says, " During the movement, I once saw hundreds of people staging a protest outside a police station, but no one dared to walk inside and talk to the policemen regarding the issue. Conditions in the state have now changed, as the police have taken up counselling as a priority instead of picking up a lathi".
