Every MBA Aspirant is aware of the requirements to get into a desired college or university that offers the speciality one desires. There exist many entrance examinations to take up for getting an MBA Admission. The most popular ones are the CAT and GMAT. And the aspirants are always in doldrums so as to take up which one to get the required results. Every aspirant has the same question in their preparation who plans on pursuing an MBA in India.

CAT has garnered about three times the number of students when compared to the ones opting for GMAT. An overall decrease in the count of people going for an MBA course was seen in the year of 2018. The choice of CAT over GMAT is the lesser pressure and competition it offers.
GMAT, on the other hand, offers Five chances to take the test. On a condition that there must be a gap of minimum 16 days between two attempts. This exam thus gives a higher chance for candidates to pass and qualify the exam for MBA colleges. In total, GMAT allows the students to give the exam for Eight times in their lifetime.
The validity of the Scores:
CAT scores are valid for one single academic year only. If you wish for applying to colleges the next year of giving your CAT exam, then the scores will be invalid. They would be considered as a year old, and they would want the recent ones. There are only a few colleges and universities in India which consider the previous year's CAT scores and allow for an admission.
GMAT Scores, on the other hand, are valid for Five long years. All the five years must come in a row after the year one has given the attempt. If after five years, one has not gotten admission into an MBA course, one can give another attempt if available, in recent times.
CAT exam does not offer such a facility to the students, to select the sections.
GMAT scores give us a chance of getting into Business schools across the Globe. The worldwide approach of the scores is beneficially valid for five years, till we can avails admission in one of the institutes worldwide. Harvard, Stanford, Wharton in the USA. INSEAD in Singapore and France nations. London B School and others accept the GMAT scores.
Great Lakes Institute of Management in Chennai, Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad and SP Jain in Mumbai etc are the Indian Institutes accepting GMAT scores.
GMAT related B-Schools have modified the patterns and process. After the exam one is supposed to send the required Essays and recommendation letters of experience, allowing the students to talk about their own experience. Universities abroad do not ask for Class 10 and 12 marks for admission, and so there is a 10% more chance of getting an admission.
This is an overall view, while the final decision is left to the student.
