Summer of 2019 is here. The sun's wrath is all upon us, and it is going to get worse. The temperatures have already been over the 30s and according to the Indian Meteorological Department, they are yet to reach their highest. The forecast of temperatures in the region of Telangana may cross the 40-degree mark this summer and there are chances of a nearly 50-degree temperature.
The 40-degree mark is to remain for a relatively long time, and it is said to be reached within a span of one week. In these days of high temperatures and searing heat, a range of 15 to 20 days can also be set to witness Heat Waves. This is the overall Telangana state temperature numbers.
The capital city of Telangana, Hyderabad will also cross this 40-degree mark, but it would take around two-weeks time to reach them. The Adilabad, Medak, Warangal and surrounding districts in the State of Telangana would surely witness 47-48 degrees temperatures for many days.
Whereas, Hyderabad would experience a maximum temperature of 45 degrees for relatively lesser days. The IMD releases their weather outlook data every year, and this March-May 2019 data was also released. Talking about it, Director in-charge of Meteorological Centre-Hyderabad Y. K. Reddy says, " from here on (March 1), temperatures will gradually rise by 0.2 to 0.3 degrees. It will be the highest from mid of May till the onset of Monsoon".
Looking at the erstwhile statistics of the recorded temperatures, especially from the year 2008 to 2018 these are the highest ever temperatures and heatwave days. 46 heatwave days were recorded in Telangana in the year 2010, 33 heatwave days in the year 2009.
The year of 2018, has recorded only seven days of a heatwave. In the whole of Telangana's history since the year 1973, Bhadrachalam District of Telangana has witnessed the highest temperature of 48.3 degrees Celsius., in the month of May.
IMD Director says, " The heat wave announced would usually be 5 degrees more than the estimated normal temperatures. Elderly and children are likely to be more affected by the heat wave. Care and precaution to be taken".
