The Pakistan has officially released a statement after releasing Abhinandhan at wagah Border , The Pakistan’s statement on Wing Commander Abhinandan returned to India is as follows
: The captured Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman has been returned to India today. He was arrested when his military jet MIG-21 crashed in Azad Jammu & Kashmir after being shot down by Pakistan Air Force for violating Pakistani airspace on February 27, 2019.
While in captivity, he was treated with dignity and in line with international law. Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Imran Khan announced his return as a goodwill gesture aimed at de-escalating rising tensions with India.
This Press Release Letter is Released with Date as 1st March 2019 with place as Islamabad.
Abhinandan Varthaman was accompanied by IAF Group Captain Joy Thomas Kurien, Defence Attache to Indian High Commission in Pakistan. Exactly around 9:20 PM IST he was handed over to Indian Air Force , Speaking to Media , Indian Air Vice Marshal RGK Kapoor at Attari-Wagah border said that Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman has been handed over to us. He will now be taken for a detailed medical checkup because he had to eject from an aircraft. Indian Air Force is happy to have him back.
