Veteran Cine Actress Jaya Prada has officially joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Party today . She is active in politics since 1994 , She began her political journey by joining Telugu Desam Party (T.D.P) in the year 1994 after the invitation of Telugu Desam Party's Founder N.T Rama Rao . She was nominated to Rajya Sabha by the T.D.P Party in 1996 and later she had left the party due to ideological differences between chandra babu naidu .
Later she has joined in Samajwadi Party in 2004 , She was a member of parliament from 2004 to 2014 from Rampur Constituency , Later she was expelled from the party due to anti-party activities in 2010. After breiefly forming a new party with Amar Singh , She joined Ajit Singh's Rashtriya Lok Dal. She was previously expelled from Samajwadi Party due to differences between the Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav , Actor-turned-politician Jaya Prada previously also said that she considered Amar Singh her "godfather". She also made serious allegations against senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and Rampur MLA Azam Khan, including a claim that he "attempted an acid attack" on her.
Jaya Prada has contested last time from the Bijnor seat in the 2014 general elections. She, however, lost the election to Kunwar Bharatendra Singh a member from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). On 26th March 2019 , she has now moved altogether to the ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) , This came as a surprise to many as there are exactly two weeks before the Huge Indian Elections , Speaking on the occasion she said " Its a very important moment in my life , I am honorued to be invited into the party in which the party leader takes a great stance in the security of our Indian Citizens , I am extremely honored to work under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
