Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was brought to Delhi after Pakistan released him through the Attari-Wagah border late on Friday. When asked about his state in both physical and mental attires, Abhinandan went saying that he went through “a lot of mental hara**ssment”, further added that there was nothing like physical tor*ture. The IAF pilot was captured by Pakistani authorities on February 27 after his MiG 21 Bison went down during a dogfight with Pakistani jets. But before his plane was hit, he has taken down an F-16 of Pakistan air force.
Besides this, when he was in Pakistan a lot of fake news has been spread across social media. Although he doesn't have any social media accounts the numerous fake accounts in his name that have cropped up recently.
IAF tweeted regarding the same saying "Wg Cdr Abhinandan Varthaman does not have a social media account on any portal (Facebook /Instagram /Twitter). Please avoid following any fake accounts being used in the name of any IAF Airwarrior for spreading misinformation."
The six fake Twitter accounts busted by the Air Force go by these names: @IAFAbhinandanV, @abhinandanhere, @_pilotiaf, @WC_Abhinandan, @AbhiNandan_Wcdr, @W_abhinandan.
Abinandhan is now in Delhi taking treatment for his injuries. He told senior Air Force officers that is he is raring to return to the cockpit.
