The Tragic lives of animals in the harsh human world are heart-wrenching. Not able to cope up with humans and utmostly tolerating our dreadfulness these animals of the wild are helpless. Be it a hungry street dog, a stuck kitten or circus animals, they are living along with us. Many animal welfare organisations are working hard in getting justice to the friends of nature. Laws have been made, violators getting punished but still, such instances happen.
Deforestation and extensive use of forests for personal use, we humans have penetrated into the homes of the wildlife and even destroyed many. Clueless about the new maps, but following their natural instincts, these animals have unfortunately entered into a village.
A very remote village named Bishnupur in the state of West Bengal, where the major livelihood source of the people is agriculture. They have not been kind to the regal animal. What was once a soaring Cultural Icon, is now not even cared for as earlier.
The villagers have pelted stones on mother Elephant and its calf for entering into the crop area and destroying it in the name of Hunger. The villagers were so adamant and protective of their farms that they even resorted to throwing fireballs at the two animals.
A photographer has captured the incident when the two animals were clueless and definitely scared of the happenings. Indian elephants are in the Endangered list of the IUCN Red List. And we here resort to irresponsible behaviour. There will be other methods to lure them away from the plants and this is not the recommended one.

The photographer who has clicked those pictures was saying this in a statement to a news channel. " This happens because the villagers have to save their crops. There are many elephant corridors in human habitations. I’m trying to show this and spread my photos to increase public awareness on the matter".
