KL Rahul has become a widely known name among the Indian Cricket fans. Despite his low scores and performances in recent times, he is well remembered for his role at the Indian Premier League(IPL) last year and the present cricket matches. He is gaining great popularity, he even got paired up with Hardik Pandya and were invited to the celebrity talk show, Koffee With Karan.
The show had the two men reveal many secrets and funny moments in their careers. Talking about their careers and pairing up batsmen, they also revealed some astonishing facts. This came especially from KL Rahul, who said that his parents are not happy with his choice of career.
Rahul was not talking about his initial cricketing days, he confirmed that they are still unhappy about his choice even when he is playing with the Indian Team, representing India internationally. At times when he scored centuries in matches, still could not make his parents happier.
Both of Rahul's parents are professors, and Rahul happens to have a sister who is an Engineer. They still keep complaining that he could not become an Engineer like his sister nor does he have a stable job. Well, before the man got into cricket, Rahul had a stable job at the RBI, the only time when his parents were the happiest.
"My mum, she still gives me grief that she doesn’t have an engineering certificate on the wall. And I tell her that I play for the country and you’re still worried. I got a job with the Reserve Bank of India recently, a couple of years ago. That’s when they were the happiest".
Further adding, he said, "Not when I got 100s, not when I won games for the country. They obviously are happy but the happiest they have been was when I got a job, a stable job". In the end, he said that he would love it more if his parents could laud his performance and the choice of career.
